Description
Dragon bloodstone owl, carved and polished, 5cm tall and 67g, sitting flat and steady on a carved perch.
Deep green to almost black, broken by olive patches and red markings that come through strongest across the chest. Under a lamp the red comes forward. In daylight the green dominates. Markings vary a good deal between pieces.
Dragon bloodstone and bloodstone are two different stones with names close enough to confuse most people. Dragon bloodstone, also sold as dragon stone, is red and green in bold patches. Classic bloodstone is a darker, more even green carrying small red flecks. This one is dragon bloodstone.
What a dragon bloodstone owl means
Dragon bloodstone is worked with for personal power and for the point where something dormant starts moving again. Where classic bloodstone belongs to endurance, dragon stone is reached for at the beginning of a push rather than the middle of it. Courage, creative fire, and the will to begin.
The owl adds night sight, which suits work that has to be seen through rather than only started.
Correspondences are traditional and are offered as part of a practice, not as a substitute for medical or professional advice.
Care
Hard, holds a polish, and forgiving enough for a pocket or a bag. Avoid salt and household cleaners, which dull the surface. A dry cloth is enough. Cleanse with sound, breath or moonlight.
