Description
Hematoid quartz towers, also known as fire quartz, chosen piece by piece. Each tower is clear quartz that grew with fine inclusions of hematite, which colour the crystal in shades of red, orange and russet. Hold one to the light and you will see rainbows flashing through the inner fractures, and these three towers are full of them. There are three to choose from, from 23cm to 29cm, each polished to a point with a flat base so it stands on its own.
Choose your hematoid quartz tower
- A, 29cm, 1114g, £86. The tallest of the three. A clear and white band through the middle, with glowing orange hematoid gathered at the base and again towards the point.
- B, 27cm, 826g, £80. Deep red and orange hematoid veining running all through the tower, with clear quartz windows between the colour.
- C, 23cm, 819g, £80. Warm russet and red orange from base to point, a broad, solid tower with a rich, even colour.
Every tower is photographed on its own, and the letter in the dropdown matches the photos, so the fire quartz tower you see is the one you receive.
What hematoid quartz is
Hematoid quartz is quartz in which hematite, an iron oxide, was trapped as the crystal grew. Depending on how much hematite settled in, the colour ranges from a light orange haze to a deep brick red. It is sold under several names, including fire quartz, red hematoid quartz and harlequin quartz. The inner fractures in the quartz catch the light and split it into rainbows, which show beautifully in a tall tower.
Hematoid quartz meaning and traditional correspondences
Hematoid quartz is traditionally seen as joining the grounding of hematite with the clarity of clear quartz. It is linked with the root and sacral chakras, and is often chosen for grounding, steady energy, motivation and feeling settled in the body.
A tall tower is traditionally placed at the centre of a crystal grid, on an altar, or in a room where you want warm, steady energy. Many people keep a fire quartz tower near the hearth or in a living room, and it suits Samhain and the darker months when warmth and grounding are the themes.
Correspondences are traditional and are offered as part of a practice, not as a substitute for medical or professional advice.
Caring for your hematoid quartz tower
Quartz is around 7 on the Mohs scale, but the point of a tower can chip if knocked, so stand it where it will not be brushed past. Dust with a soft cloth. Keep it out of strong direct sun for long periods, and cleanse with sound, breath or moonlight.
What you receive
