Genuine raw Moldavite from the Chlum sand mine in South Bohemia, Czech Republic. Moldavite is a natural green glass, a tektite formed around fifteen million years ago when a meteorite struck what is now southern Germany and the heat of the impact flung molten material across Bohemia and Moravia. Every piece carries the deep forest to bottle green colour, natural sculpting and tiny bubbles that mark it as the real thing.
In crystal tradition Moldavite is known as a stone of transformation and is linked with the heart and crown chakras. It is a popular choice for New Moon intention work, for meditation and for marking a turning point in life. Many people simply hold a piece in the palm and breathe slowly for a few minutes, feeling its weight and texture, which is a gentle way to get to know it.
