Description

A selenite ritual bowl carved by hand from natural gypsum, 10cm in diameter. Where the charging bowl is built for crystal cleansing first, the ritual bowl is shaped with ceremony in mind: holding sage and palo santo, gathering smudge tools, anchoring an intention note at the centre of an altar layout. She is built for ritual work that goes beyond crystal storage.

Why a Selenite Ritual Bowl Earns a Place at the Altar

A dedicated ritual bowl marks the difference between a crystal collection and a working altar. She is the bowl you reach for when you light a candle, prepare a smudge, or set an intention with deliberate care. The 10cm size carries enough physical presence to feel like an altar piece without taking over the space.

Selenite is traditionally considered self cleansing, which means anything held inside her receives a gentle ongoing energetic reset. For ritual work this matters: sage bundles, palo santo sticks, intention notes, and ritual jewellery all benefit from sitting in a continuously clearing space between uses.

How To Use Your Selenite Ritual Bowl

Place the bowl at the centre of your altar, on a smudge tray, or on the surface you use for ritual preparation. She can hold an unlit sage bundle between uses, a palo santo stick, a small piece of charcoal disc for resin incense, or a folded intention note for the duration of a working.

For full ritual work, place your written intention inside the bowl at the start of the ritual and leave her in place through the duration of the working. A short ritual might mean overnight; a longer one might mean a full lunar cycle.

For Wheel of the Year work, the ritual bowl makes a natural seasonal altar anchor. Each Sabbat she can hold a small offering or seasonal correspondence: a sprig of rosemary for Imbolc, a fresh flower for Beltane, a piece of fruit for Lammas, a small acorn for Mabon.

Caring For Your Selenite Ritual Bowl

Selenite is a soft gypsum mineral scoring 2 on the Mohs hardness scale. She is water soluble and will dissolve, cloud, or pit if left in contact with moisture. Wipe gently with a dry soft cloth. Avoid placing damp items, fresh flowers in water, or wet offerings inside her. Keep her away from humid windows and never rinse her under a tap.

About Selenite

Selenite is a translucent crystallised form of gypsum, named after Selene, the Ancient Greek goddess of the moon. Most carved decorative selenite is technically satin spar, a fibrous variety prized for her luminous fibre optic glow. You can read more on the Mindat selenite mineral page.

Each Mystic Grove selenite bowl is hand finished and arrives with the natural variations in size, surface, and translucency that mark her as a one of a kind piece. Browse the full range of Cauldrons, Ritual and Offering Bowls.
