Description

This tigers eye wand is 13cm long and weighs 133g. It is cut with a faceted point at each end from golden tigers eye, and comes with a silver tone metal stand so it can be displayed upright.

It is a single piece, photographed from each side. The wand in the photos is the one you receive.

What this tigers eye wand looks like

One face shows classic tigers eye, with bands of honey gold and warm caramel that shimmer as you turn it. The gold line of light slides along the wand like a cat’s eye.

The other face has a darker, natural pitted surface with tiny glints of gold through it. This is part of the stone as it formed and gives the wand real character, so you can choose which side faces out on the stand.

About tigers eye

Tigers eye is a variety of quartz. Its shimmer, called chatoyancy, comes from fine fibres inside the stone that line up in parallel and catch the light.

It sits at around 7 on the Mohs scale, so it is a sturdy stone to hold and use. You can read more about how it forms on the Gemdat tigers eye page.

Tigers eye wand meaning and traditional uses

Tigers eye is traditionally linked with confidence, courage and steady focus, and with the solar plexus chakra. It is also associated with Leo and Gemini.

A crystal wand is traditionally used to direct intention, which is why wands are popular in ritual and meditation. A double pointed wand is often described as working in both directions.

Ways people like to use a wand:

  • Held during meditation, resting lightly in the palm.
  • Used to trace a circle or point to each stone when setting up a crystal grid.
  • Displayed on its stand on an altar alongside candles.
  • Kept on a desk as a reminder to stay steady and keep going.

Caring for your tigers eye wand

The points are the most delicate part of a wand, so return it to its stand after use rather than leaving it to roll. Store it away from harder stones.

Wipe it with a soft dry cloth to bring back the shine. Smoke, sound or moonlight are gentle ways to cleanse it, and our crystal cleansing guide covers each method.
