• Lemon Jade: bright buttery yellow with soft paler veining running through. Traditionally a stone of good fortune and cheerful confidence.
• Orange Calcite: warm tangerine with deeper orange banding that glows when light passes through it. Linked with creativity, warmth and a lift in mood.
• Smoky Quartz: soft translucent grey with gentle cloudy movement inside. A grounding stone, often kept for protection and letting go.
• White Calcite: milky white with a soft frosted sheen. Traditionally used for calm, clarity and a fresh start.
• Green Aventurine: soft sage green with a smooth glossy polish. Known as a stone of luck, growth and opportunity.

The cat in folklore and practice

Cats have walked beside people’s spiritual lives for thousands of years. In ancient Egypt the cat was sacred to Bastet, a goddess of the home, protection and joy, and cats were honoured in households and temples alike. In European folklore the cat became the familiar, the quiet companion at the hearth who sees what others miss.

Caring for your crystal cat

Calcite is a soft stone, so the orange and white calcite cats are best kept away from harder crystals and dusted with a dry soft cloth rather than washed. Keep them out of water, and away from anything acidic.

The lemon jade, smoky quartz and aventurine cats are a little tougher, but a dry cloth is still all any of them needs. To cleanse, use sound, breath or moonlight.
