What labradorite is
Labradorite is a feldspar mineral. Its famous flash, called labradorescence, comes from light bouncing between thin layers inside the stone. Turn a tower slowly and the colour moves across its faces.
The flash only shows at certain angles, so each tower is photographed to show its colour, and every one is a little different.
Traditional correspondences
Labradorite is traditionally known as a stone of magic, intuition and transformation, linked with the third eye and throat chakras. It is often kept close during change, used in meditation and divination, or placed on the altar for Samhain and the full moon.
Correspondences are traditional and are offered as part of a practice, not as a substitute for medical or professional advice.
Caring for your labradorite tower
Labradorite is around 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale. It can chip along its natural layers if dropped, so stand your tower on a flat surface. Dust with a soft cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. To cleanse, use sound, breath or moonlight.
