Description
A picture jasper sphere, cut and polished from natural jasper and sent with a stand. There are two to choose from, a large 89mm sphere and a 68mm sphere, each with its own landscape of lines and bands running through the stone.
Choose your picture jasper sphere
- A, 89mm, 1026g, £60. A large, weighty sphere in soft dove grey, crossed by a web of rust red lines like a map drawn in the stone.
- B, 68mm, 450g, £38. Lilac, plum and soft grey bands swirling around the sphere, with a fine line of darker brown running across one side.
Every piece is photographed on its own, and the letter in the dropdown matches the photos, so the picture jasper sphere you see is the one you receive.
What picture jasper is
Picture jasper is a fine grained form of chalcedony and quartz, coloured by minerals laid down as the stone formed. It takes its name from the patterns inside it, which often look like distant hills, desert skylines or old maps.
No two pieces carry the same picture, which is why picture jasper has long been a favourite with collectors and for display.
Traditional correspondences
Picture jasper is traditionally known as a grounding stone, linked with the root chakra and with patience, steadiness and a connection to the earth. It is often kept on a desk or altar as a reminder to slow down and look at the bigger picture.
Correspondences are traditional and are offered as part of a practice, not as a substitute for medical or professional advice.
Caring for your picture jasper sphere
Jasper is around 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale and takes knocks well, but a sphere can chip if it rolls. Keep it on its stand and dust with a soft dry cloth. To cleanse, use sound, breath or moonlight.
What you receive
One picture jasper sphere, the piece you choose from the dropdown, with a stand, wrapped for the post and sent by Royal Mail Tracked.
