Description

A selenite eye bowl carved by hand from a single piece of natural gypsum, 15cm at her widest. The eye shape carries an old symbolism of witnessing, intuition, and the watchful presence. Selenite herself holds a soft luminous translucency that picks up candle light beautifully on an altar or scrying table.

Why a Selenite Eye Bowl Suits Intuitive Work

The eye is one of the oldest symbols of perception, awareness, and the inward gaze. A selenite eye bowl makes a natural focal point for divination preparation, scrying setup, and any practice that asks you to slow down and notice. Selenite is traditionally associated with the crown and third eye chakras, which makes the eye shape a natural choice for crystals aligned with intuition, vision, and clarity.

Many practitioners use her to hold lapis lazuli tumbles, sodalite, amethyst, or labradorite when those crystals are not being worn or carried. The selenite she sits in cleanses gently, resetting each crystal’s energy without sun, water, or smoke.

How To Use Your Selenite Eye Bowl

Place the bowl on an altar, meditation surface, or windowsill where she can hold her focal point quality. The 15cm size carries enough presence to anchor a larger altar layout while still fitting comfortably on a bedside table.

Rest your crystals inside her for at least four to six hours, or overnight for jewellery worn daily. Many practitioners use the eye bowl specifically before divination work, placing their pendulum, tarot deck, or scrying mirror briefly inside her to reset before a session.

For Full Moon journalling, fold a written question or intention into the bowl and leave her overnight. The combination of selenite’s traditional lunar association and the eye’s symbol of perception suits questions about clarity, discernment, and seeing what is true.

Caring For Your Selenite Eye Bowl

Selenite is a soft gypsum mineral scoring 2 on the Mohs hardness scale. She is water soluble and will dissolve, cloud, or pit if left in contact with moisture. Wipe gently with a dry soft cloth to remove dust. Avoid placing damp items inside her, keep her away from humid windows, and never rinse her under a tap.

About Selenite

Selenite is a translucent crystallised form of gypsum, named after Selene, the Ancient Greek goddess of the moon. Most carved decorative selenite is technically satin spar, a fibrous variety prized for her luminous fibre optic glow. You can read more on the Mindat selenite mineral page.

Each Mystic Grove selenite bowl is hand finished and arrives with the natural variations in size, surface, and translucency that mark her as a one of a kind piece. Browse the full range of Cauldrons, Ritual and Offering Bowls.
