Lavender essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering tops of Lavandula angustifolia, true lavender, a perennial shrub native to the mountainous regions of the western Mediterranean. This 10ml lavender essential oil is a pure, high-quality true lavender oil suitable for all aromatherapy and personal care applications.
Lavender essential oil has a sweet, floral, and herbaceous aroma with soft, slightly woody and clean undertones. The primary aromatic constituents are linalyl acetate and linalool, which together create the characteristic smooth, rounded, universally appealing lavender scent. True lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is distinguished from lavandin (a hybrid) by its lower camphor content and more refined, delicate floral character.
