Neroli essential oil is steam distilled from the freshly picked flowers of Citrus aurantium var. amara, the bitter orange tree. The name neroli comes from Princess Marie Anne of Nerola, who popularised the scent in 17th-century Italy. Neroli is one of the most precious and expensive flower essential oils in aromatherapy, produced primarily in Morocco, Tunisia, and Italy.
This neroli dilute is the pure essential oil pre-diluted to make it more accessible and economical for everyday use, while retaining the full aromatic character of the oil. Neroli essential oil has an exquisitely complex floral aroma that is simultaneously sweet, fresh, and slightly spicy, with honeyed and green undertones and an elegant, long-lasting dry-down. The main aromatic constituents include linalool, linalyl acetate, and nerolidol.
In aromatherapy, neroli essential oil is prized for its profound calming and uplifting effects. It is frequently used in blends for anxiety, shock, and nervous tension, and is one of the key oils in natural skincare for mature and sensitive skin.
