Description
White camphor essential oil is produced from the wood and bark of Cinnamomum camphora, a large evergreen tree native to China and Japan, now grown across subtropical Asia and parts of the Mediterranean. The crude camphor oil is fractionally distilled to separate the white, brown, and yellow fractions; white camphor is the lightest, most refined fraction with the lowest toxicity and the cleanest aromatic profile.
White camphor essential oil has a fresh, clean, camphoraceous, and slightly medicinal aroma with cool, penetrating notes. The primary constituent is 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol) along with alpha-pinene and linalool in the white fraction. The white fraction is considerably safer and more suitable for aromatherapy use than the brown or yellow fractions, which contain safrole and should not be used therapeutically.
In aromatherapy, white camphor essential oil is used in diffuser and inhalation blends for respiratory support and to clear the air. It is also used in diluted massage preparations for muscle and joint applications, where its penetrating quality is valued. It blends well with eucalyptus, tea tree, rosemary, peppermint, and lavender for respiratory and invigorating blends.
White camphor should not be used on children under two years old or during pregnancy. Always dilute before skin application. This 10ml bottle is suitable for use in diffusers, oil burners, and diluted preparations only. Ensure you are using white camphor, not the more toxic brown or yellow varieties. Not for internal use.
