Description
Blodeuwedd goddess mug, a 13oz white ceramic mug printed with original Mystic Grove artwork. One side carries Blodeuwedd with her title, Made of flowers, now the owl. Turn the mug and her name sits in spaced capitals under a small crescent moon and two leaf sprigs.
The artwork is painted in soft, natural colours on plain white, so it reads like an illustration rather than a slogan. It is as at home on a kitchen shelf as it is on an altar.
Who Blodeuwedd is
In the Welsh Mabinogi, Blodeuwedd was made by the magicians Math and Gwydion from the flowers of oak, broom and meadowsweet, as a bride for Lleu. She chose her own love instead, and for that she was turned into an owl.
Her name means flower face.
Her symbols on the Blodeuwedd goddess mug
- Owls. Her second form, wise in the dark and free to fly.
- Broom. One of the flowers she was made from, golden and bright.
- Meadowsweet. The creamy summer flower that gave her sweetness.
A Blodeuwedd goddess mug for your practice
A mug is one of the simplest ways to keep a goddess close. The first brew of the day becomes a small pause, and some people keep a goddess mug just for moon tea or for a cup poured as an offering.
In modern practice she is often paired with rose quartz and green aventurine, for the heart and for growth. She belongs to early summer, when the broom and meadowsweet are in flower.
Correspondences are traditional and offered as part of a practice, not as a substitute for medical or professional advice.
