Description
Cerridwen goddess mug, a 13oz white ceramic mug printed with original Mystic Grove artwork. One side carries Cerridwen with her title, Keeper of the cauldron. Turn the mug and her name sits in spaced capitals under a small crescent moon and two leaf sprigs.
The artwork is painted in soft, natural colours on plain white, so it reads like an illustration rather than a slogan. It is as at home on a kitchen shelf as it is on an altar.
Who Cerridwen is
Cerridwen brewed a potion of wisdom in her great cauldron for a year and a day. Three drops splashed onto the hand of the boy Gwion, who gained all its knowledge.
She chased him as he became a hare, a fish, a bird and a grain of wheat, and from that chase the poet Taliesin was born.
Her symbols on the Cerridwen goddess mug
- Cauldrons. Wisdom, change and rebirth, all brewed together.
- Hares. The first shape in the chase, and a creature of the moon.
- Herbs. The plants she gathered for her year and a day brew.
A Cerridwen goddess mug for your practice
A mug is one of the simplest ways to keep a goddess close. The first brew of the day becomes a small pause, and some people keep a goddess mug just for moon tea or for a cup poured as an offering.
In modern practice she is often paired with amethyst and smoky quartz, for wisdom and for change. She suits kitchen witches, writers and anyone who loves a cauldron.
Correspondences are traditional and offered as part of a practice, not as a substitute for medical or professional advice.
