Description
Chang’e goddess tumbler, a 20oz double walled stainless steel skinny tumbler printed all the way round with original Mystic Grove artwork. Her portrait sits on the front, her name and title, She who rose to the moon, on the back, and between them the wrap is scattered with jade rabbits, lanterns and osmanthus.
The pattern runs continuously around the tumbler with no hard edge, so it looks good from every side. It keeps a drink hot or cold for longer and travels well, so she can come with you through the day.
Who Chang’e is
In Chinese story, Chang’e drank the elixir of immortality and floated up to the moon, where she lives in the Moon Palace. Her companion is the Jade Rabbit, who pounds medicine beneath the osmanthus tree.
At the Mid Autumn Festival families share mooncakes and light lanterns under the full moon.
Her symbols on the Chang’e goddess tumbler
- Jade rabbit. Her faithful companion on the moon.
- Lanterns. Lit at the Mid Autumn Festival under the full moon.
- Osmanthus. The fragrant tree that grows in the Moon Palace.
A Chang’e goddess tumbler for every day
A tumbler goes where you go, to work, on a walk or onto the altar for a moon water ritual. It is an easy way to keep Chang’e with you, and a lovely gift for anyone who follows her.
In modern practice she is often paired with jade and moonstone, for good fortune and the moon. Her festival is the Mid Autumn Festival, at the harvest full moon.
Correspondences are traditional and offered as part of a practice, not as a substitute for medical or professional advice.
