About this goddess body crystal carving

Some people call this form a lady body or a crystal goddess. It is a torso carved without a head, arms or legs, so the eye stays on the stone. The weight sits low in the hips, so it stands steady on a shelf, altar or bedside table.

Volcano agate

A grounding stone, traditionally linked with the root and the fire element. It is the stone people reach for when they want to feel steady while life is changing. The fine natural lines through the lower body are part of the stone and show how its layers formed.

Aura sphalerite and the titanium aura coating

Sphalerite is known as a stone of discernment and grounding, for telling what is true from what only looks true. The aura is a finish added after carving. The stone goes into a vacuum chamber, where titanium is turned into a vapour that settles on the surface and bonds as a layer far thinner than a hair.

That thin layer is what makes the rainbow. Light bounces off the top of the coating and off the stone beneath it, and the two reflections brighten some colours and cancel others, just like a soap bubble. The sparkling druzy surface catches the light from hundreds of tiny faces at once, which is why the colours shift as you walk past. Titanium aura is linked in modern practice with joy, vitality and the full spectrum of colour.

Caring for your goddess body crystal carving

Lift either piece with your whole hand around the hips rather than by the neck. Dust the volcano agate with a soft dry cloth to keep its polish. For the aura sphalerite, use a soft dry brush, as rubbing can wear the coating, and avoid water, salt and cleaning sprays. Cleanse with sound, breath, moonlight or smoke.
