Ostara

Ostara is the spring equinox, around 20 March, when day and night stand in balance and the light begins to win. It celebrates new growth, fertility and fresh starts, and its symbols of eggs, hares and spring flowers are still part of Easter today.

Setting an Ostara altar

Fresh flowers, decorated eggs, seeds to plant and pale green, yellow or pink candles make a bright Ostara altar. It is a natural time to plant something, in the soil or as an intention, and tend it as the season grows.

Ostara crystals

Moss agate, green aventurine and rose quartz are traditionally kept for growth, luck and love, and crystal eggs suit the season well. Our Wheel of the Year crystal set gathers seven tumblestones for Ostara.
