Protection crystals are the stones traditionally kept close as a shield, to help you feel safe, steady and less affected by the busy energy of other people and places. Most are black, dark or reflective, and many are also used for grounding. Pick the stone you want from the dropdown and you receive one tumblestone of that crystal, roughly 2cm to 3cm.

How to use crystals for protection

Protection stones are often carried in a pocket or bag, placed by the front door, or kept on a desk in a busy workplace. Some people set one in each corner of a room, or hold a stone and state their intention to stay protected before a long day.

Protection work is traditionally done under the waning and dark moon, a time for releasing and setting boundaries, and at Samhain, when the veil is said to be thin.

You can also choose a few stones to build your own small set, and pair them with a pouch, a candle or a written intention.

Tumblestones are polished smooth and take everyday carrying well. Keep softer stones in their own pouch so they do not scratch, keep metallic and soft stones away from water, and cleanse with sound, breath or moonlight.
