Description
A little seated praying Buddha, carved and polished from natural stone, with a gentle smile and hands pressed together at the heart. Each one stands approximately 8cm tall and weighs around 154g, with some a touch heavier than others. Choose from thirteen stones, including two that glow under UV light.
The meaning of the pose
The hands pressed palm to palm in front of the heart is known as Anjali Mudra. In Buddhist and Hindu tradition it is a gesture of greeting, respect and gratitude, the same gesture that goes with the word namaste. A praying Buddha on your altar or shelf is a quiet reminder to pause, breathe and give thanks for what you have. Many people keep one close during meditation, or place one in a calm corner of the home as a focus for gratitude practice.
