Fluorite butterfly trinket dishes, each one carved from a single piece of green fluorite into a butterfly with gently dished wings. They measure around 10cm across the wingspan and weigh around 180g, with a carved body and eyes at the centre. Hold one to the light and the fluorite glows from within in shades of sea green, mint and clear. There are four to choose from.

• D, £18. Clear and seafoam green fluorite with misty white veils and a crisp carved body.

How to use your butterfly dish

The shallow wings make a pretty resting place for rings and earrings on a bedside table, or a few tumblestones on the altar. Many people keep a small crystal dish as a charging plate, setting smaller stones in it overnight.

Caring for your fluorite

Fluorite is a soft stone, around 4 on the Mohs scale, so it can scratch or chip if knocked against harder stones or metal. Set jewellery down gently, keep it out of water for long periods and out of strong direct sun, and dust with a soft dry cloth. To cleanse, use sound, breath or moonlight.
