Description
A large selenite bowl carved by hand from natural gypsum in a classic round form, 15cm in diameter. She is the most generous round form in the Mystic Grove selenite bowl range, large enough to hold a substantial crystal collection while keeping the soft, luminous translucency that selenite is known for. The 15cm round is the bowl most practitioners settle into once their collection grows beyond the daily worn pieces.
Why a Large Selenite Bowl Anchors a Working Altar
A 15cm round selenite bowl carries enough physical presence to anchor a full altar layout. She holds a substantial crystal collection comfortably, sits as a statement piece on a mantel or dressing table, and works as the central charging point for an entire daily practice.
Selenite is traditionally considered self cleansing, which means the crystals she holds receive a gentle continuous energetic reset. At this size she is a working bowl rather than a single intention dish: she can hold a full tray of tumbles, several pieces of crystal jewellery, a cluster, and an intention note all at once.
How To Use Your Large Selenite Bowl
Place the bowl on a mantel, altar, dressing table, or shelf where her size suits the space. The 15cm round is best given enough room to breathe rather than being tucked into a corner.
Lay your full daily crystal collection inside her at the end of each day and lift out the pieces you want to wear or carry the following morning. She also works well as a permanent home for crystals you do not actively use, allowing them to rest in continuous selenite contact rather than sitting in a drawer.
For Full Moon work, the 15cm round is large enough to hold an entire collection of moon associated crystals together overnight: moonstone, labradorite, rainbow moonstone, selenite tumbles, and lepidolite all fit comfortably inside her.
Caring For Your Large Selenite Bowl
Selenite is a soft gypsum mineral scoring 2 on the Mohs hardness scale. She is water soluble and will dissolve, cloud, or pit if left in contact with moisture. Wipe gently with a dry soft cloth. Avoid placing damp items inside her. Keep her away from humid windows and never rinse her under a tap.
About Selenite
Selenite is a translucent crystallised form of gypsum, named after Selene, the Ancient Greek goddess of the moon. Most carved decorative selenite is technically satin spar, a fibrous variety prized for her luminous fibre optic glow. You can read more on the Mindat selenite mineral page.
Each Mystic Grove selenite bowl is hand finished and arrives with the natural variations in size, surface, and translucency that mark her as a one of a kind piece. Browse the full range of Cauldrons, Ritual and Offering Bowls.
