Description

A selenite heart bowl carved by hand from a single piece of natural gypsum, measuring 10cm at her widest point. Selenite holds a soft, luminous translucency that catches the light beautifully on a dressing table, altar, or bedside surface. The heart shape lends itself naturally to self love work, heart chakra practice, and pairings with rose quartz and rhodonite.

Why a Selenite Heart Bowl Belongs on Your Altar

Selenite is one of the few crystals traditionally considered self cleansing, which is why selenite bowls have become a quiet workhorse in modern crystal practice. Resting your tumbles, rings, or bracelets inside the bowl for a few hours allows their energy to be gently reset by the selenite she sits in. There is no need to leave them under the moon, run them through smoke, or rinse them. The bowl does the work.

The heart shape adds a relational layer. Many practitioners use a heart shaped selenite bowl specifically for tools associated with love, friendship, family, and self acceptance. Rose quartz tumbles, a small piece of mangano calcite, or a written intention folded into the bowl overnight all sit beautifully inside her.

How To Use Your Selenite Heart Bowl

Place the bowl somewhere it will be undisturbed and within sight. A bedside table is a popular choice because the gentle energy of selenite is associated with rest and clarity of mind. An altar or sacred shelf works equally well.

Lay your crystals directly into the bowl, taking care with harder stones that could scratch the soft surface if dropped sharply. Leave them for at least four to six hours, or overnight for jewellery worn daily. The bowl can also hold a folded intention note, an unlit candle, or a small bundle of sage for ritual preparation.

For Full Moon work, the heart shape pairs beautifully with lunar journalling and self love intentions. Hold the bowl in both hands and speak your intention into her before placing the written note inside.

Caring For Your Selenite Heart Bowl

Selenite is a soft gypsum mineral scoring 2 on the Mohs hardness scale. She is water soluble and will dissolve, cloud, or pit if left in contact with moisture. Wipe gently with a dry soft cloth to remove dust. Avoid placing damp items inside her, keep her away from windows in humid weather, and never rinse her under a tap.

About Selenite

Selenite is a translucent crystallised form of gypsum, named after Selene, the Ancient Greek goddess of the moon. Most carved decorative selenite is technically satin spar, a fibrous variety prized for her luminous fibre optic glow. You can read more on the Mindat selenite mineral page.

Each Mystic Grove selenite bowl is hand finished and arrives with the natural variations in size, surface, and translucency that mark her as a one of a kind piece. Browse the full range of Cauldrons, Ritual and Offering Bowls.
