Mabon

Mabon is the autumn equinox, around 22 September, when day and night are balanced once more and the year turns towards the dark. It is the second harvest, the gathering of fruit and nuts, and a festival of thanks, balance and letting go.

Setting a Mabon altar

Apples, acorns, autumn leaves and deep red, orange and brown candles make a warm Mabon altar. Many people share a harvest meal, give thanks for what the year has brought, and write down what they are ready to release before winter.

Mabon crystals
